Low Level Concerns. Keeping Children Safe.

Farrer and Co define low level concerns as any concern about an adult’s behaviour towards a child, that does not meet the allegation threshold set out or is not otherwise serious enough to consider a referral to the LADO.

This has caused some confusion in schools with Heads and DSL’s many of which have not added a low-level concern guidance within their code of conduct and safeguarding policies as required by Keeping Children Safe in Education.

The examples given by the guidance may contribute to that confusion; we are addressing this issue as well as delivering what policies are required in our Managing Allegations and Designated safeguarding lead courses which we have now arranged.
